Reaching the top step of the UCI Downhill World Cup circuit is no mean feat. Staying there? Even harder. But for one of the world’s fastest downhill MTB racers, Marine Cabirou, injury and setback are all just part of the sport—one that’s worth pursuing in order to unlock her full potential.
Occasionally, it’s ok to pinch yourself and then give yourself a pat on the back. If you’d told me 5, heck even 2 years ago, that I’d be published in a National Geographic print magazine—even a sister title—I would’ve laughed.
Long Live Chainsaw is now available for digital download. Presented with Red Bull Media House, the film reveals the true story of the meteoric rise, untimely death and long-lasting legacy of Canadian downhill mountain bike legend, Stevie Smith. Known as the adventure capital of the world, Chamonix Mont-Blanc has some of the single most impressive scenery on the planet. I went with Mountain Mavericks and The Reason snowboard mag for an epic mission through Chamonix's backcountry on a content trip last winter with photographer Sam Ingles.
Last week I went out to Kaunertal, Austria, for Snowboard Spring Break to help a friend out and work for Dragon Alliance. I'd never been to the event before, so was a little unsure what to expect, but everyone was super friendly and super stoked on snowboarding...
South Africa truly has it all - lush greenery, stunning coastlines, urban cityscapes and arid farmlands. An unreal ability to transform your surroundings in as little as an hour drive, SA provides an awesome spot for photoshoots! I spent two weeks out there with the crew from Steel Productions shooting for Outdoor & Cycle concepts...
